Acceptable Use and Academic Integrity Policy

Tesify exists to strengthen your writing and your research, never to replace them. This policy sets out what the tool does, what it does not do, and how we expect you to use it so that your work remains genuinely your own.

The principle: the authorship is yours

The ideas, the arguments and the conclusions in your thesis or dissertation must be yours. Tesify organises the structure, suggests improvements to what you have already written, builds your citations and lets you review your own originality. It does not draft your work for you, and it does not relieve you of understanding and answering for everything you submit — including at the viva.

What Tesify does

Structure: organises your document into coherent chapters and sections.
Writing support: suggests phrasing and improves the clarity of paragraphs you have already written.
Citations and bibliography: applies Harvard, APA or OSCOLA (or another style, where your department requires it).
Originality review: flags passages worth citing better or rewriting, before you submit.
Formatting and export: leaves the document ready in Word, PDF or LaTeX.

What Tesify does not do

It does not write your thesis from nothing so that you can present it as your own without having contributed.
It does not guarantee that your submission will pass any detection system: the originality review supports your own checking, it is not a means of evading controls.
It does not invent data, sources or citations. Every source you use must be real, verifiable and checked by you.
It does not replace your university’s regulations, your supervisor’s guidance, or your duty to declare the tools you used where that is required.

Uses we do not accept

Using Tesify to generate a thesis you did not meaningfully write, to fabricate citations or data, to circumvent your institution’s integrity rules, or to present as entirely your own a piece of work produced with artificial intelligence assistance where your programme requires you to declare it, is a breach of these terms. We reserve the right to suspend accounts used in a way that is incompatible with the purpose of the tool.

Follow your university’s regulations

Academic integrity rules differ between universities, faculties and programmes, and sometimes between supervisors. Some require you to declare the use of artificial intelligence tools; others restrict it further. UK institutions increasingly ask for an explicit statement of AI use in the thesis itself. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules of your programme, and to ask your supervisor or your graduate school if you are unsure about a particular use.
