Help
Answers to the questions we are asked most often. If yours isn’t here, email support@tesify.app and we will reply within 2 working days.
How do I start my thesis?
Create an account, tell us your topic and the type of work (PhD or MPhil thesis, MRes dissertation, thesis by publication, EdD or DBA), and Tesify proposes a starting structure with the usual chapters. From there you work one section at a time; you do not need the whole thing mapped out before you begin.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The free plan asks for no card and has no trial timer. There is a paid plan, which you will see inside the app, never before you have written anything.
Which referencing styles are supported?
Harvard, APA and OSCOLA, among others. You enter the source details (or paste a link or a DOI) and Tesify generates the in-text citation and the reference list entry, alphabetised with hanging indents. As you cite inside the editor, the bibliography updates itself. UK departments vary in their house style, so check your programme handbook and confirm the final format yourself.
What does the originality check actually do?
It compares your text against published sources and academic work, and gives you a report showing passages that resemble something already published. It is there so you can find missing citations or paraphrase that sits too close to the original, and repair them yourself before you submit. It does not remove matches and it does not guarantee a percentage.
Can I work in short sessions?
Yes. Your document saves as you write and reopens where you left off with the structure in view, so you can make progress between seminars, marking and shifts.
What formats can I export to?
Word (.docx), PDF and LaTeX, with margins, pagination and title page ready for deposit.
Is my thesis private?
Yes. Your document is yours. We do not share it with third parties and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models. You can export it or delete it whenever you want.
How do I close my account or delete my data?
Email privacy@tesify.app from the address on your account and we will process the deletion. Export anything you want to keep first: deletion cannot be undone.
Still stuck?
Email support@tesify.app telling us what you were doing, what you expected to happen and what happened instead. That resolves most things far sooner. Contact sets out what to include.
